The benefits of a boiler installation

Getting a new boiler comes with so many great benefits, so you will never regret making the switch. While the initial cost of a new boiler may seem off putting, this is the only downside to the process! Need some more convincing? Keep reading this blog post!

Your new boiler will be much more efficient

When you get a new boiler, it will be much more efficient than your previous model. Almost every new gas boiler fitted in England and Wales since 2005 has had to be a condensing boiler. A condensing boiler recovers heat from its exhaust gases that an older boiler sends straight out of the flue, so far less of the gas you pay for is wasted. Most new boilers are around 90% efficient or better, while an older non-condensing boiler can be a good deal lower. An efficient boiler means your energy bills will be lower, saving you money each month to spend on more exciting things. It is also much better for the environment, because you burn less gas to heat the same home.

Your new boiler will be more discreet

New technology means your boiler will be smaller and quieter than before. A quiet boiler may not seem like too much of a benefit, but it can make all the difference if your boiler is on the other side of your bedroom wall. A small boiler means you have many more options for locating it - for example, wall mounting it and hiding it in a kitchen cupboard. This isn't the only option and it can now fit anywhere you have the space!

Swapping an old boiler and hot water tank for a combi boiler can free up a whole cupboard. One customer told us:

"To install a combi boiler plus a small radiator in cupboard, removing existing boiler and water tank. Ross did a brilliant job, removing the old boiler and associated tanks and pipe work. We followed his advise as we were going to have the combi placed in the loft but he recommended against it, suggesting we can place in the cupboard where the water tank was as this was going to be removed, we are really glad we listened. Nothing was too much trouble for him, we asked many questions. We are very pleased with the work and especially pleased we chose a combi. Job well done and thank you Ross, top marks." Your heating and hot water will be more reliable

An older boiler can struggle to hold a steady temperature, or take a long time to heat your water. A new boiler warms your home evenly and gives you hot water when you need it. That's true whichever type suits your home: a combi boiler, which heats water straight from the mains as you use it, or a system or regular boiler, which stores hot water in a cylinder.

Your new boiler will be safer

Safety regulations are improving all the time, so they will have developed a lot since you got your last boiler, especially if that was close to a decade ago. Modern boilers have built-in safety devices that spot a fault and shut the boiler down safely. Because of this, you will have greater peace of mind with your new boiler, trusting that it will operate safer than ever before. As well as being safe, your new boiler will also be much more reliable, which is just as important as safety. Why have a boiler if it doesn't run safely and reliably?

You can control your heating more easily

A new boiler is a good time to update your heating controls too. A programmable or smart thermostat lets you set your heating to come on only when you need it, and many can be changed from your phone. Add thermostatic radiator valves (the dials on each radiator) and you can keep different rooms at different temperatures. Heating only the rooms you use, when you use them, cuts wasted energy.

Your new boiler will last for years

A well-fitted modern boiler usually lasts 10 to 15 years, and often longer when it's looked after. Most new boilers come with a manufacturer's warranty. To keep that warranty valid, the boiler normally has to be registered after it's fitted and serviced every year by a Gas Safe registered engineer. A yearly boiler service also keeps it running safely and efficiently.
